OpenDJED

Open DJED is an independent, open-source implementation built by Artifi Labs: a front end and off-chain services layer for DJED, an overcollateralized, crypto-backed stablecoin protocol on Cardano developed by COTI and IOG. COTI runs its own official front end and services that talk to the protocol, and Open DJED was built alongside it as an additional, community-auditable and forkable layer between users and the protocol. The goal was to make DJED accessible to anyone in the Cardano ecosystem, regardless of location, and to boost the DJED platform as a whole.

The project began with a deep reverse-engineering effort. DJED's off-chain application logic was never publicly documented, so the team worked directly from on-chain data: tracing transaction patterns, mapping the addresses involved at each stage of the protocol, and reconstructing how orders and datums were structured. Piece by piece, this on-chain analysis was used to rebuild working off-chain code capable of interacting correctly with the existing DJED smart contracts, all while maintaining full protocol compatibility with the original overcollateralized stablecoin mechanism.

With the protocol logic fully understood, Artifi Labs extended the project with a real-time analytics layer, indexing on-chain activity to reconstruct DJED's complete historical timeline and display live reserve, market cap, and price data for DJED and SHEN. The system has been running continuously since launch.

The entire codebase is released under GPL-3.0, fully open, auditable, and forkable, so any developer or community member in the Cardano ecosystem can review, extend, or build on top of it. Thanks to that, other protocols in the ecosystem have already been able to integrate DJED's functionality directly.
